Musical Celebration for Chinese New Year!
Time & Location
About The Event
We are partnering with the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) whose Asia curator, Dr. Eddie Hsu, will explain Chinese Sizhu instruments and play Sizhu music that is typically performed during Chinese New Year. Sizhu is a chamber music tradition commonly performed for gatherings and their own recreation. The sounds of fiddles, lutes, zithers, bamboo flutes, and percussion illustrate a vivid tradition while extending a happy greeting to the new year.
