SSCA Celebrates 35th Anniversary with Cairns, Australia in Event at Railroad Park

SSCA is celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Scottsdale’s sister city relationship with Cairns Australia with a fun family event at the Railroad Park from 9:00-11:00 am on October 22nd.  We are partnering with Scottsdale Live Steamers, which runs the small ride-on steam trains at the southeast side of the park. They will offer rides exclusively for our guests.  Activities will include fun facts and activities featuring Australia's unique animals and the Great Barrier Reef.  Scottsdale Public Library will join in the fun with an activity table, story time based on Australia children’s books, and partnering with SSCA to create a special “Australian Story Walkabout” to lead families from the train area to the park's commemorative Cairns tree.  In addition, artists from Scottsdale Artists' School will be on hand with guidance, tips, and tricks to capture your memories in sketches.  Light refreshments will also be available.   Please join the fun in celebrating our beautiful sister city of Cairns.
