35th Annual Young Artist and Author Showcase

Scottsdale Sister Cities Association presented the 35th Annual Young Artist and Author Showcase, an international contest that encourages youth worldwide to express our mission through original artwork and literature. Through this year’s theme, “Food Security in My Community” young artists and writers were invited to create written and visual art which highlights the impact of climate change on food production and food consumption. Award winners and participants were celebrated with a showcase and presentation that shared excerpts from essays, poetry and visual art that helped to raise awareness of these harsh realities upon global communities.

1st and 2nd place winners in each category have advanced to the international competition. This exhibition is a collaboration between Scottsdale Sister Cities Association, Scottsdale Public Library, Scottsdale Artists’ School, and Scottsdale Unified School District. For a complete list of youth participants, see attached program. YAAS 2023 Program.
