After touring the Project C.U.R.E. warehouse in early December, the members of SSCA’s Junior Board took part in the organization’s efforts to package donated medical supplies and facilitate the delivery of these supplies to their destinations. On January 18, the Junior Board helped sort through boxes of newly-donated medical supplies from hospitals around the valley, organizing the supplies by their function and checking the expiration dates. Led by the Director of Operations for the Phoenix location, Heather Maher, we were able to sort through two pallets of supply boxes! It felt great knowing that we were playing a role in helping hospitals and clinics around the world better address the health needs of their communities. While Project C.U.R.E. 's ability to ship supplies has been impacted by the backed-up global supply chain, prepping the donated goods helped ensure that the medical equipment will be ready to leave for its destination when new containers arrive. The Junior Board is looking forward to volunteering with Project C.U.R.E more throughout 2022!
