Student Leaders Honored at End of Year Pizza Party

Congratulations to our two Max Rumbaugh, Jr. Outstanding Youth Ambassador Award winners for 2023, Adrian Gallegly from Desert Mountain and Chloe Greetis from Chaparral. Max Rumbaugh, Jr. and SSCA Youth Committee Chair Donna Hartz presented the awards at the end of the year Pizza Party and Art Workshop held at Scottsdale Artists' School on May 19.

Chloe Greetis took our ties with Project C.U.R.E. to the next level by coordinating the "Walk for Ukraine" fundraiser, involving students from her school and the Junior Board. She organized a 5K run and 1K fun run held November 23, 2022 which raised over $1,300 to provide medical relief and equipment to Ukraine through Project C.U.R.E. and engaging the local community in this effort.

Adrian Gallegly has stepped up to be the VP at DMHS’s International Club and a leader during the SSCA Junior Board trips to Project C.U.R.E. He’s been an important part of his international club’s recruitment of nearly 30 new members this year. In addition, he will be a Youth Ambassador to Interlaken, Switzerland next year.

Students enjoyed this end of the year Pizza Party which included members of the Junior Board and Young Artist and Author Showcase (YAAS) participants. As a fun project organized by SSCA President Sandy Zally, they all made unique air clay ornaments. We extend a special thank you to all of these students committed to the SSCA mission of promoting international goodwill.
