Tour MIM’s updated Ireland exhibit with curator Rich Walter

While MIM’s galleries are closed, stay connected with a virtual visit! Here, Rich Walter shares the stories behind exciting new acquisitions on display, each representing a vital role in traditional Irish music. See a 1760s fiddle from one of the country’s greatest violin makers,

Thomas Perry, and a completely original set of uilleann(“elbow”) pipes from renowned maker Denis Crowley. Also featured is a custom-built tenor banjo from contemporary maker Emerald Banjos, played by musician Noel Bermingham.
