The Kington Committee hosted "Art and Tarts," a celebration of the annual Kingston-Scottsdale Student Art Exchange, on January 11, 2023 -- Sir John A. Macdonald Day in Canada -- at the Scottsdale Public Library Appaloosa Branch. Sir John was the first prime minister of Canada and a longtime resident of Kingston, the first capital of Canada. Members and community guests enjoyed homemade butter tarts, a famous Canadian confection, while giving feedback on the art. This feedback will be mailed to the young Kingston artists. "The tarts were delicious and the student work was amazing," Nancy Burt, Kingston Committee member, stated. The artwork will be on display at the Appaloosa Library for a few months.
