Scottsdale Sister Cities has joined other non-profits in becoming a beneficiary of the “Birdies for Charity” program sponsored by Thunderbirds Charities. It’s a fun way to connect with the 2023 WM Phoenix Open, the world-class golf event held at Scottsdale’s Tournament Players Club, and to raise funds to support SSCA’s inaugural Student Golf Exchange launching this summer and fall.
Here’s how it works: On the WM Birdies for Charity website, sign up to donate an amount based on the number of birdies that are shot by PGA players during the rounds on Thursday through Sunday. You can pledge a penny, two cents, nickel, dime, or more (or make a lump sum donation). BUT YOU MUST SELECT SCOTTSDALE SISTER CITIES AS THE RECIPIENT OF YOUR PLEDGE. Last year, there were 1,422 birdies recorded.
The deadline to pledge is : Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 5 pm. MST.
After the event, the Thunderbirds will bill you. You can pay via credit card or check. Thunderbird Charities pays all CC fees, so SSCA will receive 100% of donations earmarked for us. Plus TC offers a 10% matching bonus if $500 is collected for SSCA.
