We are very very pleased to welcome Mrs. Sim Hayward to Scottsdale for a couple of days of meetings in mid-October.
Cairns, Scottsdale’s 2nd sister city, is in Queensland on the Coral Sea in northeast Australia. It is famed as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and an area of stunning natural beauty and rich history. We partnered with Cairns in 1987. In recent years, we worked with Cairns on several cultural exchange programs and twice sent two high school students to Cairns for a weeklong exchange program with students from all of their sister cities. We are very very pleased to welcome Mrs. Sim Hayward to Scottsdale for a couple of days of meetings in mid-October. Sim is a long time leader of Cairns’ sister city program and is an Executive Member of Sister Cities Australia. In 2016 the Cairns Regional Council officially named her “Cairns Sister City Ambassador”. We are looking forward to working with Sim to find ways to make our relationship more active in more areas.
