Scottsdale Sister Cities Junior Board tours Project C.U.R.E. warehouse

The Junior Board Members toured the Project C.U.R.E. Phoenix Distribution Center in early December. Mrs. Ruth Sanchez, Executive Director of Project C.U.R.E., provided the members in attendance with a tour of the 40,000 sq ft warehouse and explained the mission of rallying healthcare professionals and distributing donated medical supplies and equipment. On the tour, members gained an understanding of how the warehouse operates and how volunteers work to send hundreds of semi-truck sized containers each year to underserved populations in over 135 countries around the world. Learning just how impactful Project C.U.R.E.’s contributions have been for individuals dependent on the local hospitals and clinics that donations are sent to, the Junior Board is excited to consider organizing regular multi-school events where students may contribute to sorting boxes of medical supplies that will packed into a shipping container specific to the needs of an individual community.
